The Resource Recovery Network (RRN)
Auckland's network of 13 resource recovery centres and zero waste hubs forms the Resource Recovery Network (RRN). These hubs, known as Community Recycling Centres (CRCs), keep valuable resources in circulation and divert reusable and recyclable materials from landfill through reuse, repair, and recycling activities. In doing so, they generate a wide range of environmental, social, cultural, and economic benefits while responding to the unique needs, opportunities, and priorities of their local communities.
Purpose
To empower Auckland communities, through a thriving network of community-led resource recovery hubs, to lead the transition to a zero-waste future by keeping valuable resources in use, transforming waste into opportunity, and creating positive environmental, social, cultural, and economic outcomes for people, place, and future generations.
